UEFA are finalizing plans of staging the final of the Champions League final in August at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul – top senior officials of the association say the 29th of August 2020 has been agreed but yet to be announced.
The final was initially set to be held on the 30th of May but was postponed in March due the health concerns around the globe – UEFA face the huge task of rescheduling and completing the Champions League and Europa League knockout round that were suspended.
This development could lead to the congestion of fixtures for participating teams as UEFA plan to round up the competition within three weeks in August but member nations must be able to kick start their various leagues in July.
