Real faces must-win UCL tie against M’gladbach
Its all to play for in the UCL game between Real Madrid and Borussia M’gladbach – the Spanish giants need maximum points to boost their chances of making it out of the group stage.
M’gladbach were left to rue their luck when Romelu Lukaku scored a 90th minute equalizer to deny the Germans all three points in match-day one.
They’ll be hoping for a better defensive performance against Real Madrid who lost 3-2 to Shakhtar Donesk.
Borussia M’gladbach are quite a tough team to beat – they don’t win all their matches but they don’t lose too many either.
The Die Fohlens have lost just once this season compared to Real who have been defeated twice.
This fixture is bound to produce goals, my gut feelings suggest they’ll be a minimum of two goals in the game.
M’gladbach have scored in all but one of their games this term; they’ve scored 22 goals and conceded 10.
Real Madrid have scored a total of 11 goals and let in 8.
In the UCL, Real are of course favorite to win every match but Borussia M’gladbach are a decent team themselves.
The Los Blancos brushed aside the 3-2 defeat to Shakhtar by claiming maximum points in the El Clasico against Barcelona.
Zidane’s men are the best team in this competition and it should count for something in this game.
Real Madrid will create chances, that i know for sure – it’s left to be seen if Benzema and the other players upfront will convert them.
M’gladbach will offer some goal threats too, but i don’t expect them to score beyond one goal. That’s if they’re able to beat Courtois at all.
Knowing their antecedent in the UCL, i expect Real to win this game – they edged M’gladbach when it comes to quality too.
Any result other than a win for the away side will leave their hopes of qualifying for the next round hanging in the balance.
Prediction: Borussia M’gladbach 1-2 Real Madrid
