Premier League players dominated up to half of the 30-man 2019 Ballon d’Or shortlist.

Premier League players dominated up to half of the 30-man Ballon d'Or shortlist. La Liga is represented by Messi, Griezmann, Frenkie De Jong and Joao Felix.

Current European Champions Liverpool have seven of their first team players in the list. The attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firminho and Mohammed Salah were recognised for their contribution to Liverpool’s European triumph last season. Virgil van Dijk, Allison Becker, Georginio Wijnaldum and Trent Alexander-Arnorld were not left out too.

Manchester City contributed five players as Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Bernado Silva, Rihad Mahrez and Kevin Debruyne made the list.
Heung-min Son, Hugo Lloris [Tottenham] and sole representative from Arsenal Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang completed Premier League delegates for the award.

Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema and Eden Hazard lead the La Liga contingents which included Antoine Griezmann, Frenkie De Jong, Joao Felix and Ter Stegen.

Cristiano Ronaldo also makes the list as usual, supported by Matthijs De Ligt and Kalidou Koulibaly for Serie A
Other nominees include Robert Lewandoski [Bayern Munich], Kylian Mbappe [PSG], Marquinhos [PSG], Dusan Tadic [Ajax] and Donny van de Beek [Ajax].
