Formula one set for hectic stretch of races
The Formula one championship, like all other sporting events have been heavily affected by the coronavirus pandemic –nine F1 grand prix meetings have either been postponed or cancelled this season.
Top executives and officials are considering hosting two or more races at Silverstone this year as way of salvaging the season, Formula one teams and their drivers could be set for a congested stretch of practice and racing if everything goes according to plan.
F1 top dogs suggest we could have as much as eighteen Formula one races between July 2020 to January 2021, Formula one may host its first race this season in Austria between the 3rd and 5th of July with the Silverstone circuit set to host multiple races right after the Austrian grand prix.
Austria are one of the first European countries to lift restrictions and it is expected that they will be ready to host the first race of the season, although it is likely to be held without fans.
The Silverstone grand prix is hosted in the United Kingdom, the country is yet to lift restrictions of any form which raises doubts over the possibility of hosting Formula one races there this year.
