English Premier League fans are hyped with expectations for what has been a great weekend of football. The League Matchday 6 is packed with thrilling fixtures, but the biggest fixture of the weekend is between Chelsea and Liverpool.

The host, Chelsea and the visitors, Liverpool suffered losses in their first European competitive games in the midweek. Chelsea were dented to a 1-nil loss at home to Valencia, Liverpool lost 2-0 to Napoli. Both teams look forward to getting back to winning days when they clash on Sunday.

Liverpool – Chelsea (Head to Head) 2018/19

Liverpool held Chelsea to a draw at Stamford bridge on their last visit to the venue in the 2018/19 season. A match that saw the hosts struggling on possession despite getting the lead at the 25th min from a goal by Eden Hazard. A late equalizer by Daniel Sturridge was all it would take to get a point for the visitors.

The reverse fixture at Anfield in April, ended in a 2-nil victory for Liverpool. Goals from forwards, Sadio Mane (51′) and Mohammed Salah (53′) played the role of edging a struggling Chelsea team to give the hosts all three points.

Chelsea injury woes

The injury worries in the Chelsea locker room raises a lot of questions as how they would line-up for the clash against Liverpool. Mason Mount, who has shown a lot of promise in the opening stages of the season is a doubtful appearance for the Blues. Mount was subbed out early in the match against Valencia after receiving a heavy tackle from Francis Coquelin. He joins the company of N’Golo Kante, Anthony Rudiger and Hudson-Odoi who are out on Injuries.

Liverpool’s perfect start

Liverpool are top of the league table with a 5wins-games ratio and makes them favorites to edge the Blues. A win at Stamford bridge would restore their 5pts dominance at the top of the league table. The coalition of a Mane-Firmino-Salah attack force has always proven to get points for Jurgen Klopp’s side. The absence of Allison Becker who is on injuries has reduced the chances of Liverpool getting a clean sheet. They’ve managed just 1 in 5 league games but were still able to win games with ease and continue to show promise to winning the league.

We look forward to a blistering edge-of-your-seat excitement in this fixture. The match is scheduled for 16:30pm (GMT+1).
