Chelsea are seeking for a new sporting director following reports that Marina Granovskaia has left her post as part of the changes to the club’s board.

The London club will be looking to attract the best names to fill the big shoes of their former sporting director who played a vital role in notable signing for the club.
Granovskaia, who followed the footsteps of Bruce Buck out of Chelsea caused co-owner Todd Boehly to take over the chairmanship of the club. He will also assume Granovskaia’s responsibilities regarding transfers and contracts until a full-time sporting director is appointed.
Boehly’s decision to name himself acting sporting director came as a shock to most of Chelsea’s Premier League rivals and fans alike. Although, it is expected that meetings will now be held over who is appointed to take the full-time position.
However, Chelsea confirmed Granovskaia will remain “available” to Boehly and the club for the rest of the summer transfer window. But she will no longer hold a position at Stamford Bridge and will not play an active part in incoming or outgoing business.

Boehly to handle Chelsea’s summer transfer signings

Boehly and head coach Thomas Tuchel are poised to lead this summer’s business while the club seeks to find a new sporting director. Also, uncertainty still surrounds the future of technical and performance advisor Petr Cech. The club legend was not mentioned in Chelsea’s statement and will hold talks with the new owners over his future.
Atletico Madrid’s Andrea Berta is currently heavily linked to the sporting director role at Chelsea. However, the club will try to attract Michael Edwards, who has recently left his role at Liverpool.
Boehly and Tuchel’s first task will be to start on this summer’s incoming transfer business after finalizing a £7m (€8.1m) two-month loan deal for Romelu Lukaku to return to Inter Milan.
At the moment, Raheem Sterling sits at the top of a list of prospective attacking targets which also includes Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele. Everton’s Richarlison is also being approached by Chelsea and Arsenal top target Gabriel Jesus has also been offered to the club.
