Chelsea and United settle for one point each
Chelsea and Manchester United played out a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge as the away side fall further behind table leaders, Manchester City.
The Red Devils made a slow start to the game, as they’ve done in most away games this term.
Chelsea controlled possession and dictated the tune of play for a large chunk of the first 45 minutes but both sides failed to hit the bull’s eye.
Except for a couple of half-chances, the first half was starved of goalmouth actions.
Chelsea began the second period as the better team, showing great intent in front of goal, Manchester United were able to hold their own on that occasion.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men then played their way back into the game, creating chances and testing Mendy in goal for Chelsea.
But still, they failed to find the back of the net.
Its become a signature result for Manchester United this season whenever they come up against big teams.
Before today’s barren draw against, they’ve played out the same result against Arsenal, City and Liverpool.
And that’s one of the reasons why they are now 12 points behind Manchester City.
