Arsenal edge Leeds United despite first half master class from the Peacocks
Leeds United produced a football masterclass in the first half of their FA cup encounter against Arsenal.
The Peacocks controlled possession, finishing the half with 65% of possession. They had 15 attempts on goal but couldn’t find the cutting edge.
The half time break was good for the Gunners – they started the second half the better side.
Alexandre Lacazette clipped the bar with his free kick in the 50th minute.
Five minutes later Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette and a deflection from a Leeds player combined to put Reiss Nelson through on goal.
The Englishman kept to calm as he executed an easy finish to give Arsenal and Mikel Arteta back to back wins.
Marcelo Bielsa and his team can take solace from this game – if they continue to play like they did today and take their chances they will be playing Premier League football next season.
